Nice read. I wonder, if the #2 pick is for sale, is Ingram the best player Charlotte could get back if they say to the league, hey, everyone send us your best offer.

Like would the Hornets rather have #8 and Beal on long term contract or #6 and #11 plus combination of Fultz/Suggs/Cole/Issac and future firsts and magic also cool with taking Rozier back or Ingram/#14 and future first? Wondering if Ingram is the best the hornets could do.

I always appreciate your well thought out comments. Thanks for reading. I think you raise a valid question and the only other player I can think of that might be available would be Towns. Minnesota faces a similar crunch and Towns, I'd argue, is a similar caliber of player to Ingram (though he already has All-NBA appearances and Ingram doesn't). Still, he will be on the 35% max like Beal and I think that is going to be incredibly difficult to build around in this new era unless that 35% guy is a top 10ish guy.

Either way, it's always an adventure with Charlotte. I'm not sure they are predictable in any sense..

It’s goings to be fascinating to see how teams operate this offseason. I know many would be trying to avoid these long term expensive contracts like KAT, Beal, etc but at the same time, these players gotta be on someone’s roster, somebody gotta pay the bill.

Also got me wondering how teams will pay players going forward if everyone is afraid or hesitant to give out these long large contracts.

And I know scoot the main topic but wonder what other trades Pels looking to make if they don’t go that route, like OG or Turner or another player in that realm

Great article, thank you.

Would you do BI for Scoot and Hayward?

I would...especially due to long term flexibility. I love Scoot and think he will become a top 20 player.

I think it works well for them also. Tough for them to sign a talent like BI, plus he is from North Carolina.
