This might sound obtuse given your first bullet point, but when you mention that they don't feel pressured to make a move, should I be interpreting that as just being comfortable navigating their position, or as complacency? The former is good - don't want to get forced into anything - but the latter is a touch concerning.
The former for sure. I do not sense complacency - especially given the changes happening within the staff. But I do sense that they do not feel pressured to make a deal nor do the see it as a bad outcome if they have talents like Brandon Ingram and Zion on the team next season.
They are definitely pursuing other moves independent of this
That's what I wanted to hear. I know they've made other moves already but the concern was that they consider those changes 'enough'. Confirmation otherwise is always good.
Yo Shamit, you are awesome — keep up the great work. I love the “can’t get anywhere” insights in this new “Cooler Talk” segment; one of your most enjoyable articles yet, and that’s saying something!
A team official strongly denied that description, but I feel it is their job to deny it. I do think the characterization of "no relationship" is inaccurate, but I don't think Windhorst is completely lying either. The truth is likely in the middle. What I do know is that there seems to be a greater effort from Zion's end to be involved lately.
Gotcha, makes sense. Zion has always seemed a bit disconnected from the team and not as close at the core guys from that 2021 playoff push. I’m glad to see that he is making an effort tho, it would suck to lose a talent like him without him every fully buying in.
While I agree with this premise, it's a bit difficult for me to go into a lot of detail without compromising my position. Rest assured there seemed to be a sense that this is different
Keep up the great and consistent work, Shamit.
Keep up the fantastic work. Always been a fan of it. Thanks for doing this.
Thanks Shamit. If nothing happens on the Scoot front, what other moves do you expect from the Pels during the offseason?

Thanks for the update, great read as always.
I know pels were connected to OG rumors at deadline, I wonder if those talks are still a thing, same with John Collins
Thanks Shamit, keep it up

Good stuff! Would you say the Windhorst quote about the relationship between Zion and the team / front office is inaccurate?

Zion talking to people in the organization and people being like “wow he’s engaged now” is wild lol that’s like the bare minimum

I feel you. Hopefully it translates
